Many people think that the knife gate valve and slurry valve are the same, but in fact, they are different. In the early days, the knife gate valve can be used to replace the slurry valve where it is required. Generally, the knife gate valve should be used better. However, the slurry valve is better for those places with strict subdivision requirements. Is there any difference between knife gate valve and slurry valve? Let’s introduce the difference between the two.
- Different media: the slurry valve can only be used in the slurry pipeline. The valve seat is rubber and sealed with the edge of the gate. The valve can be pressurized in both directions, and there is no groove at the bottom, so that the valve does not block slag. This type of valve is generally used in clean water, sewage and liquid media. The knife gate, as its name implies, is a gate with a knife edge. When the valve is closed, it can cut off the slurry in the medium. The gate can be easily closed without jamming. It can not only replace the slurry valve, but also be used in some pipeline environments with solid media, such as gold ore powder, tailings, pulp, wood pulp, fiber, dust, ore, slag, etc.
- Different service temperatures: the slurry valve structure restricts the use of rubber seals only, and the temperature must be ≤ 80 ℃. The knife gate valve can use higher temperature fluororubber seals (≤ 180 ℃) on the basis of rubber seals, and can be processed into metal seals, which can be used on pipes with a maximum temperature of more than 1000 ℃.
- The slurry valve is very efficient for use in the slurry (water, sewage and other liquid media) pipeline. Its valve seat is sealed by contacting the edge of the gate valve with the rubber. The whole valve can be pressurized in both directions, and there is no groove at its bottom, so that it will not be blocked during use.
- The knife gate valve can be used in a wider range. It can not only be used in clean water, sewage and other liquid media, but also can play a better role in some chemical fiber, pulp, mineral pulp and other media with solids. Its gate is equipped with a knife edge, which can effectively cut off these media, and the gate can be easily closed without jamming.
